West Hendon Baptist Church:

1. Christian Development Course led by Pastor Winston Bygrave

The WHBC Christian Development Course (CDC) was developed from the Alpha course, and reflects our Baptists' views on baptism and church government, as well as our Pentecostal influence on worship and the work of the Holy Spirit today. There is no charge for this course and it is open to all. It has 2 goals:-
1. To introduce the Christian faith to all who are interested in finding out more.
2. To serve as a foundation course for church membership on the basics of the Christian Faith and what is expected in local church commitment.

The course is run on Sunday evenings, 6.30 - 8pm from 15 January to July during school term times. We begin with refreshments, followed by group discussions on key questions raised on the evening's subject. Finally, a teaching session brings together a biblical and holistic overview of the topic.

The CDC is a series of one hour sessions over 14 weeks (excluding school holidays) and a weekend away in April on ‘Who is the Holy Spirit?’ Sessions include:

Is there more to life than this?

Who is God the Father?

Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die?

How can I be sure that I have saving faith?

Why and how do I pray?

Why and how should I read the Bible? How does God guide us?

Why and how should I be baptized?

How can I live a holy life and walk in the Spirit?
